Certificate for polypropylene pipes

Pipes are used in public utilities, industry, oil and gas complex, etc. – in any case providing transportation of liquid or gas. Their certification will be mandatory in GOST only if we are talking about:

pipeline fittings (industrial),
pipelines and their parts made of thermoplastics,
gas pipelines (pressure polyethylene),

and in other cases (including for polypropylene pipes ), the certificate is issued voluntarily. But this does not mean that these products are not subject to any other legal requirements mandatory for their suppliers and manufacturers.

Regardless of the chosen assessment system (voluntary or mandatory), pipe certification is carried out taking into account not only the material of their manufacture, but also:

production methods - welded, prefabricated, seamless, etc.;
appointments, incl. special (as a structural element, for irrigation systems, electrical installation work, multi-purpose transportation of non-aggressive substances);
shape and degree of cross-section uniformity, etc.

All polypropylene pipes must have a fire safety certificate.

According to the Technical Regulations, compliance with all the parameters specified for the production of pipeline products must be confirmed, and a certificate must also be issued for polypropylene pipes

must contain the results of their tests for flammability, smoke-forming ability, flammability, etc. NBP, while the safety of pipes is assessed according to all parameters that determine it, including:

density of polypropylene;
melting point;
coefficient of thermal expansion;
tensile strength;
thermal conductivity, etc.

The parameters that polypropylene pipes demonstrated during testing are entered into the certificate (responsibility for it lies with the certification center that conducted the tests and prepared the documents) only according to the protocol.

How to issue a certificate for polypropylene pipes according to Russian GOST

A certain type of pipes, cheap and environmentally friendly, is made from various modifications of high-temperature polypropylene, surpassing metal analogues not only in durability and strength, ease of installation, incl. and due to physical lightness, or plasticity, but according to other technological parameters, incl. –

compression resistance at high temperatures and reduced weight;
bandwidth;
operating temperature range;
resistance to long-term loads, which is especially important during the construction of pipelines;
versatility of use (suitable for any liquid medium due to its chemical inertness), etc. –

which must also be confirmed by polypropylene pipes, the certificate for which is issued. If we are talking about pipeline fittings for the installation of drinking water supply systems, an examination of their hygienic safety is also necessary, upon successful completion of which a certificate of state registration is issued - an unlimited document, necessary incl. and as confirmation of the legality of circulation of registered products in the Customs Union.

For polypropylene pipes exported abroad, it is better to issue

in one of the authoritative systems there (ISO). In addition, a certificate for polypropylene pipes may be required when assessing the compliance of pipeline fittings or any other complex equipment according to one of the CU TR (Polotest consultation is free). In this case, their certification will be valid for a longer period of time (up to five years, depending on the scheme defined by the Technical Regulations).
